Saving Street Fighter X Tekken

Capcom's latest fighting game is a mess. A laundry list of problems keep it from being truly spectacular. Hardcore and casual players alike are ready to give up on the fighter, if they already haven't quit and went back to Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.
The game still has potential, even if they exist as small scraps.
It needs to be fixed, cleaned up and reintroduced. Let's look at a few changes that would make this game great.
Balance the gems.
It's so obvious, yet the developers completely forgot to put all of the gems on an equal level. The DLC gems usually don't carry a drawback. So gamers can basically buy an advantage over others. Who thought this would be a good idea?
How about you go back and re-evaluate these gems, Capcom? Make them free and balance them out. This was an inventive idea marred by corporate greed. Give tournaments a reason to turn these back on.
Release the rest of the cast.
I main Cody. I have since Alpha 3. When he appeared in one of the first cinematic trailers, I almost had a heart attack. As launch day etched forward, I didn't see a drop of news about him since his short display. Then, a couple gamers edited some values on the game's disc and the ruffian showed up.
He was hidden on disc, along with 11 fighters. So while everyone is playing with their characters and having fun, I have to use a placeholder and wait until I can buy the character I want. I bet I'm not the only one who feels this way. Let us download these "new" characters so I'm not left behind.
Close the tier list gap/make some of these characters useful.
SFxT has a huge cast, probably one of the biggest in fighting game history. Guys like Ryu and Kaz got some good representation, and the girls such as Chun Li and Cammy are no slouches. Yoshi, Paul, Kuma, and other low tier underdogs get swamped with glaring issues and are nigh unusable.
Fix them. Give these lackluster characters some new tools, up the walking speed, just make them playable. Even Hakan and T.Hawk get some use because those characters have at least a few things going for them. Level the playing field, please.
Capcom dropped the ball here a few times, but the community isn't free of guilt. Look at Tatsu's recent post about SFxT not being taken the right way. Both groups need to work together in order to keep this game alive.
